An excellent display over the weekend from the under 12s whose complement has many new faces this season.
Saturday saw a very good performance against Widden with tries from Harry Osbourn, picking up a loose ball after a restart, and Oscar Jackson with a blistering 20 yard touchline run. Final score Widden 42 Newport 14
Sunday saw Evesham take advantage of the sleep in Newport’s eyes. When they awoke the game became a real contest with Andy May scoring after picking the ball up from a 5 metre scrum, and driving over. Final score Evesham 40 Newport 7
The second game against Bournville, now with all cylinders firing, saw them chalking up a well earned victory. Newport forwards asking many questions, and tries coming rom Edward Kendall following an excellent run, and Callum Haskew popping over after great forward play. Final score Bourneville 7 Newport 14
Newport under 12s should take great pride in their performance and have represented Newport Rugby Club impeccably. |
