Saturday v Widden Old Boys Final Score 15 v 10.

Newport won a hard fought game, defending superbly throughout with strong tackling but despite good work by Jo Richards and Connor Adams the first half remained scoreless. The second half saw Newport score from an early scrum with Connor breaking down the blind side, drawing his defender with a superb dummy pass giving him room to score in the corner.

The second try was a brilliant team effort with all players handling the ball in a move which began with the backs breaking from their own half. The forwards then drove into the break down with Rob Jackson showing great strength and the necessary determination to drive over from 5 yards out.

Try number 3 came from a quick play from the backs behind the scrum with Connor, Joseph, and Ben passing well to release Jo Richards to score, rounding off a great performance from the team against tough opposition.

Sunday v Evesham RUFC Final Score 25 v 0

Newport continued their match winning form despite the narrow pitch which restricted the normal running rugby of their backs. The forwards rising to the challenge turned in a tremendous performance dominating from start to finish with some superb rucking and mauling, and were rewarded with 2 tries for Richard Heath, and one each for Rob Jackson and Tom Miles. These were all well deserved and achieved through hard work and good communication with their busy scrum half Connor Adams, who, when the chance arose, set Ben Scarisbrick off from the backs for a late try. The move sent the opposition the wrong way with a clever pass, followed by a great run by Joseph and Hannah, who were always looking for spaces and proved dangerous on several occasions.

The Newport team defended superbly, with strong tackling coming from both forwards and backs.
